Pinnacle Church and Marble Slab raise money for missions

What could be better than ice cream on a hot summer day?

Ice cream served by local celebrities that raises funds for a good cause is the answer.

Mayor Paul Harpole and former Mayor Debra McCart scooped and served Marble Slab Creamery ice cream tonight, July 11, 2013 for an event called Celebrity Scoop Night.

Until 7:00 p.m. this evening people indulged in a dessert that helped to support the Pinnacle Missions.

A portion of the funds from ice cream purchased will be put towards mission work, both locally and in Belize.

Franchise owner and Pinnacle Pastor, Andy Forman, said the event is just a fun way to raise money to help spread the word of Christ.

This will be their second trip to Belize, where they will send 14 people to help in resourcing.

Forman said, "It is a blessing to be able to give back."
