A Potter County K-9 deputy stopped a Dodge van at Interstate 40 and Bell Street for a traffic violation on Sunday night.
According to a news release from Potter County Sheriff's Office, 4 male passengers ages 16, 18, 21,27 were inside the van at the time of the stop when the deputy smelled a strong marijuana odor coming from the vehicle.
The deputy began to investigate and received conflicting stories about where the van was going. A search of the vehicle uncovered three large tubs filled with 63 bundles of marijuana. The estimated street value of the drugs is believed to be $742,000.
According to PCSO, the 27 and 27 year olds were arrested and booked into the Potter County Detention Center for possession of marijuana. The 18-year-old was released and the 16-year-old was released to Child Protective Services because it is believed they did not have any knowledge of the transport.
