Eleven B&W Pantex security officers were fired following what Pantex is calling a "sick out."
These officers all called in sick on the same day for the same shift, according to Pantex.
Pantex has filed an unfair labor practice charge against the Pantex Guards Union.
In a statement released to Pronews 7, Pantex said, "This action follows a concerted failure by 11 Security Police Officers, including one union official, to report to their assigned duties on the evening of January 21, 2014... B&W Pantex believes this was an unlawful job action and a violation of its collective bargaining agreement with the union. Despite the actions of these individuals, the Pantex Plant remained safe and secure at all times."
The Pantex Guards Union was unable to comment on the story.
