Panhandle Spirit helps foster children

One area church is doing what it can to make a difference in Amarillo.

Hillside Christian Church is teaming up with Arrow Child and Family Ministries.

Arrow provides emergency shelter for many children in the Panhandle. T he children can only stay at the shelter for ninety days, the goal is to help them find a foster home during that time.

A couple hundred volunteers from Hillside are going to help make Arrow a place where the children can feel more comfortable during such a difficult transition period.

The volunteers will help remodel the homes.

They are also putting in a computer lab and will start tutoring the children. They hope the tutoring will become an ongoing project.
