One man killed in Hwy. 60 accident

One man was pronounced dead after his pickup rolled due to a blown tire.

At approximately 5:22 p.m., Charles Wherry Jackson, 66, was traveling eastbound on U.S. Hwy. 60 in Parmer County near Bovina. He was traveling in the outside lane when theback right tire blew out on his 1998 Ford F-150. The pickup went into a right skid into the center median and rolled multiple times across the westbound lanes of the highway. It came to a rest in the north barrow ditch right side up, facing west.

He was pronounced dead at 5:55 p.m. Officials say he was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident.
