The Amarillo Police Department investigated two cases of a vehicle being forcibly taken away from a victim.

The first case happened at 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon at the Wal-Mart located at 4215 Canyon Drive where a man stole a gray Dodge Ram pickup from a 60-year-old man.

According to authorities, the suspect approached the truck as the victim was looking for a parking place, he opened the door, pulled the victim out and drove away.

At 4:30 p.m., a similar incident happened was reported at United Market street located at 2530 S. Georgia where a suspect fitting the same description stole a silver Nissan Suv from a female victim and left the scene.

Officers determined not only was the suspect description similar but the pick up stolen at Wal-Mart was left on the lot at United.

The Carson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that David Antonio Silva was arrested at 5:30 p.m. by DPS near Panhandle.

Silva was driving the stolen Nissan and he is now in custody at the Carson County Sheriff's Office.
