N.M. woman found guilty for trafficking methamphetamine

Ninth Judicial District Attorney Andrea Reeb announced that today Gloria Madrid, age 51, of Clovis, was found guilty by a Curry County jury of Trafficking Controlled Substances.
The jury deliberated approximately 30 minutes. In March 2013, Madrid sold methamphetamines to an undercover officer during an ongoing drug sting operation by the Region V Drug Task Force. Madrid was arrested on July 31, 2013.
The Honorable Fred Van Soelen presided over the trial today and Assistant District Attorney Leah Hutchins prosecuted the case for the State of New Mexico. Criminal defense attorney Marna Trammell represented the defendant.
Judge Van Soelen ordered that sentencing be held at a later date. Madrid was taken into custody today and faces up to 10 years in prison.
