Narcotics tip leads to arrest

After serving a search warrant, APD discovered more than 20 grams of meth in a home on Rose Drive.

The Amarillo Police Department responded to a narcotics call on March 8 at 4057 Rose Drive, which resulted in the confiscation of more than 20 grams of methamphetamine.

Officers responded to the call around 9:30 a.m., making contact with the female who was in the home at the time.

Initial investigation revealed that she was in possession of five grams of methamphetamine. After continuing their investigation, officers were able to obtain enough information to secure a search warrant for the home. The execution of the search warrant led officers to find an additional 16.6 grams of methamphetamine along with plastic bags, scales and other paraphernalia.

Jennifer Rena Rodriguez, 28, was arrested for the possession of methamphetamine over four but less than 200 grams in a drug free zone. She was booked into the Potter County Detention Center.
