A Lubbock man wanted in an alleged murder-for-hire scheme targeting a Texas law enforcement officer has been arrested in New Mexico.
The U.S. Marshals Service and Albuquerque Police say Adam Rico was taken into custody at an Albuquerque motel on Wednesday.
Authorities say Rico is also wanted on suspicion of arson and aggravated assault on a police officer.
Deputies from North Texas Fugitive Task Force in Lubbock developed leads that Rico was in Albuquerque.
Rico was arrested last month on federal charges involving weapons and possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
He's now being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Albuquerque while awaiting extradition.
