Motorcyclists come out to ride for the cure

The Amarillo Annual Breast Cancer Motorcycle Benefit Run Inc. hosted their 7th Ride for the Cure fundraiser Sunday afternoon for individuals that are diagnosed with breast cancer.

This year the organization raised money for two women battling the disease. They hope to ease the financial hardship that individuals go through when dealing with breast cancer.

â??Every woman that we ever wanted to help with has been a survivor,â?? said Glyndia Keiser. â??Itâ??s very important and itâ??s very expensive. Hair pieces are expensive. Medical bills are expensive and we just need all the help that we can get.â??

The organization provides those individuals battling the disease with things like prescribed medications, breast prostheses, cranial prostheses, loss of income due to illness, and more.

Scooterz bar hosted the event and will be donating ten percent of their profits to the organization.

â??It makes us really feel like were a part of that,â?? said Carolyn Plant, owner of Scooterz. â??Itâ??s a great entertaining day and itâ??s for a terrific cause.â??
