More than 135 pounds of drugs seized in Hall County traffic stop
HALL COUNTY, Texas (KVII) —
More than 135 pounds of marijuana was seized after a traffic stop along Highway 287 and mile marker 204 on Friday, leading to the arrest of three people.
According to the Memphis Police Department, a traffic stop was conducted with the Hall County Sheriff's Office on a 2017 Nissan Quest.
During the traffic stop, a K-9 alerted officers to the presence of the odor of a controlled substance inside the car. Officers conducted a search of the car and discovered over 135 pounds of marijuana.
Three California residents were located inside the car and were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana of 50 to 2,000 pounds.
MPD said the drugs were being transported to the Dallas/Fort Worth area from California.
The estimated street value of the drugs totaled over $822,000.
