The prosecutor for criminal cases against Stanley Marsh 3 expects charges of child sexual molestation will be dismissed by next week.
Marsh, the eccentric Texas businessman-turned-artist, died Tuesday in Amarillo at 76.
No trial date had been set for the more than a dozen felony counts against Marsh that alleged he paid then-teenage boys to perform sex acts at his Amarillo office.
Prosecutor Baron Slack said Wednesday that he'll begin paperwork this week that will result in a judge dismissing the charges.
Two men sued Marsh in October, alleging he was a serial molester and had paid them to perform sex acts. The cases also name Marsh's wife, son and associates.
Marsh last year settled lawsuits from 10 teens who alleged he paid them for sex acts.
