Police: missing Pampa woman found dead inside her home
PAMPA, Texas (KVII) —
Authorities say a woman found dead inside a home Wednesday is a woman who had been reported missing.
Sixty-seven-year-old Genoveva Calderoni was reported missing with the Pampa Police Department on May 6 after she was last seen on My 1 at her home in the 700 block of east Frederic by a neighbor.
Officials said they believed the body was her and finger prints were used to positively identify her.
The body was discovered by a Department of Public Safety cadaver dog in a pile of debris inside the home.
According to officials, police searched the home multiple times since May 6 but the cadaver dog was the first to discover the body as the house was filled with a large amount of debris.
An autopsy was ordered and preliminary results as well as the police investigation indicate there was no foul play involved in the death of Calderoni.
Final results of the autopsy and investigation are expected in six to eight weeks.
