After nearly 30 years, an Amarillo nightclub has unexpectedly closed its doors.

Midnight Rodeo, which has been opened in Amarillo since 1989, unexpectedly closed its doors for good after the club closed Saturday night.

According to workers, there was no notice before the closure and many of them say they are shocked.

For man years, Midnight Rodeo has been a staple in Amarillo nightlife, often hosting local and Texas country singers and bands. They've also had several rock bands perform at the club.

A post on the Midnight Rodeo Facebook page confirmed the club was closed. The post read:

Life is a party, and parties aren’t meant to last. Thanks for the support, Amarillo!

A woman who worked as a bartender at the club sent the following statement to ABC 7 Amarillo:

"I'm absolutely shocked and hurt that management didn't have the decency to tell us as we walked out of the bar at 4:30 Sunday morning that would be our last shift! At this point I still haven't been notified by anyone in management. I would have showed up Thursday night dressed and ready to work if it weren't for noticing a coworker's post on Facebook!"
