Men arrested after police find 50 marijuana plants in Amarillo home

Two men were booked into the Potter County Jail after police discovered about 50 marijuana plants growing in a home.

According to police, they received a tip of marijuana being grown in a home in the 1500 block of South Alabama. Police said they made contact with two men last Friday at the residence and officers smelled an odor of marijuana.

A search warrant was obtained and about 50 marijuana plants were found growing in various types of contained in the backyard, police said.

Police said they also seized lights and related items that could have been used in an indoor growing operation.

Larry Norris, 39, and Joey Horton, 30, were booked into the Potter County Jail on possession of marijuana over four ounces and under five pounds in a drug free zone.
