Memorial Day ceremonies to remember fallen service men and women

People around the area will pause on Memorial Day to remember the brave men and women that laid down their lives for country. Several ceremonies will be happening around Amarillo in observance of the holiday.
Memory Gardens Cemetery at 14200 I-27 will have ceremony at 3:00 p.m. Monday with a flyover and a wreath laying at the War Memorial.
At the Texas Panhandle War Memorial at 4101 South Georgia Street, there will be a ceremony start at 11:00 a.m. to honor our fallen heroes. Everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs.
Llano Cemetery located east of Interstate 27 between SE 27th Street and SE 34th Street, will begin its ceremony at 10:00 a.m. at Poppy Field as they pause to remember the fallen.
The cast and crew of the TEXAS Musical is presenting a special Memorial Day tribute. It starts at 9:00 p.m. Monday night at the Pioneer Amphitheatre with a patriotic program and fireworks. All events are free to the public.
