On April 20, at approximately 5:42 a.m., Amarillo police officers were dispatched to 950 S. Buchanan on an aggravated assault. Inside the store, officers made contact with a Hispanic male, 42, who appeared to have two stab wounds in his right side.
The only thing that the injured man told officers that he could recall was being on his bicycle near Sanborn Park at 15th and S. Taylor at around 11 p.m. the previous night when two black males and one white male approached him and spoke to him.
He couldn't tell the officers what happened next or how he ended up injured or at the store to get help. Officers didn't locate the man's bicycle that he had been riding earlier.
The man was transported to the hospital to be treated for injuries that were not life-threatening.
