Man robs Amarillo convenience store

APD officers were dispatched to this Toot'N Totum Sunday night after receiving reports of an armed robbery.

Amarillo Police Department is looking for information after a man robbed an Amarillo Toot'N Totum at knifepoint on Sunday night.

According to APD, officers responded to Toot'N Totum in the 5900 block of south Bell after the robbery at approximately 11:55 p.m. An employee told officers that a man wearing a green hoodie and white T-shirt entered the store with a 4 to 5 inch bladed knife. The employee was in the back room when he heard someone enter the store, he walked to greet the customer when he noticed the man was armed.

The employee said the man then demanded the money from the register and a carton of cigarettes. APD said the employee gave the man what he was demanding and the suspect left the store. No one was injured during the incident.

At this time APD is investigating the incident. The suspect is a described as a male with a medium build and average height. APD said he was using his sweatshirt and T-shirt to cover his face and mouth. No arrests have been made at this time.
