One man remains behind bars without the option of bail after being charged with the murder of a 97-year-old Borger woman.
Gregorio Felan, 47, was arrested Tuesday evening by Borger Police and Texas Rangers. He is charged with Murder, a felony of the first degree. Police say he was a neighbor of the woman who was killed, 97-year-old Lois Kimbrell.
It was Thursday, April 21, when Borger Police were called to the 100 block of Garrett Street in reference to an unattended death. The call was made by a citizen from Meals on Wheels. Officers discovered Kimbrell inside the resident deceased.
Police say Kimbrell lived alone in the residence for the past few decades
Initial investigation led to the belief that Kimbrell's death was suspicous. Texas rangers helped in the investigation and an autopsy was conducted. The autopsy helped classify the case as a homicide.
Borger Police Chief Jimmy Adams said the diligence, hard work and professionalism of the members of the Borger Police Department and Texas Rangers is to credit for this crime being solved. Adams also thanked Borger residents for their tips and assistance throughout the investigation.
