On April 7, a domestic dispute took place at 503 S. Florida in Amarillo, which ended in a shooting.
When police responded, they found a 33-year-old woman in the back driveway of a home. She had been shot in the arm and abdomen, and she was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Investigations began, and it was confirmed that the case was in fact a domestic dispute. On April 9, the case was referred to the 47th District Attorney's Office where charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon against a family member were accepted on Marcellus Ywain Adams, 46.
A warrant was issued, and on April 10, Adams surrendered himself and was booked into the Potter County Detention Center on the warrant.
