Man arrested for negligent homicide for December crash that killed 1
AMARILLO, Texas (KVII) —
Amarillo police have arrested a man for negligent homicide after an investigation revealed he was at fault for the death of a Tulia man in a December 2016 wreck.
Police said Noe Rubio-Garcia was arrested early Friday morning after a warrant was issued for his arrest on Thursday. He was found at a home in the 300- block of South Florida Street. He was booked into the Randall County Jail.
Rubio-Garcia was athe driver of a GMC Envoy in a wreck that happened just before Christmas, on December 20, just before 7 a.m. During the wreck 51-year-old Ismael Santoyo Rosales from Tulia was pronounced dead at the scene.
The wreck happened when the Envoy that Rubio-Garcia was driving struck the driver's side door area of a white 2000 Chevrolet two-door that was eastbound of 45th Avenue. The GMC then spun and struck the front of a black 2013 Hyundai that was stopped in the northbound to westbound turn lane on Georgia Street. Police said the impact on the eastbound Chevrolet cause it to go south of the intersection for some distance before it came to rest on the west side of Georgia Street.
APD said Rosales was the driver of the Chevrolet.
