      Man arrested after threatening church

Officers stand outside Hillside Christian Church after receiving reports of threats made against the church.

UPDATE: APD has identified the suspect as 36-year-old David Michael Stoltz. Stoltz was booked into the Randall County Jail for trespassing. The incident is still under investigation and APD said additional charges are possible.

According to Amarillo Police Department, one person is in custody after threatening Hillside Christian Church on Hillside and Soncy Wednesday morning.

APD said that a man contacted the church and made threatening, delusional comments about Satan informing those at the church that he was armed and would come to the church. According to APD, the suspect has made threats before.

At approximately 11:45 a.m. APD was dispatched to Hillside and members worked to lock down the facility. However, the suspect made it inside the building before it was secure.

Officers entered the building in search of the suspect and found him inside the sanctuary. APD said he was inside the building for approximately one hour. APD said the suspect was taken into custody and that they did not find a weapon on the suspect. The suspect was later transported to a hospital with minor injuries.

At this time APD is still investigating the incident. We will have more information as it is released.
