Man arrested after stealing truck, picking fight with owner

Amarillo Police Department arrested 23-year-old Devin Scott Leamon on Christmas Eve after he stole a vehicle and started a fight with the owner.
According to APD, officers responded to a stolen vehicle report on Monday December 23, 2013 at United Supermarket in the 4700 block of south Washington. The owner of the vehicle told police that he parked the vehicle and went into the store and when he returned the vehicle was missing. According to the owner the ignition of the vehicle does not work properly and can be started with or without a key.
The next day, the owner of the vehicle recognized his vehicle at a convenience store in the 1500 block of south Ross. APD said the owner confronted a person who was sitting in the vehicle and a fight broke out. APD officers responded to the fight report and arrested the suspect, 23-year-old Devin Scott Leamon.
APD said detectives also assisted in the investigation and found property taken from the vehicle at a residence in the 3200 block of Van Buren.
According to APD, Leamon was booked into the Potter County Jail for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
