Man arrested after pointing gun at police, standoff

marillo Police Department officers responded to a domestic disturbance call in the 5900 block of Winkler on Tuesday at approximately 5:00 p.m. Officers were told that the suspect they were looking for was armed and the complainant met police at a different location to tell officers what was happening.
According to APD, four officers approached the back of the house to make contact with the suspect inside. The suspect came to the door with a pistol in his hand and pointed it at police. Two of the officers fired their weapons at the suspect who went back into the house and refused to come out. SWAT and crisis negotiators tried to contact the suspect who was later identified as 59-year-old Robert Lingerfelt.
SWAT officers apprehended Lingerfelt at approximately 8:15 p.m. Lingerfelt was not hit by any of the officers bullets but was taken to a hospital for treatment on non life-threatening injuries.
Lingerfelt was later booked into the Randall County Sheriff's Office on four counts of aggravated assault on a peace officer.
