Tue, 28 May 2013 01:52:53 GMT — Lone Star Santas are collecting donations to help provide children that have been displaced or affected by the recent disasters in Texas and Oklahoma with love, hope, joy and toys. Lone Star Santas is a volunteer organization of santas across the state of Texas. They will be delivering toys to the children of Cleburne and Granbury, Texas, and Moore and Shawnee, Oklahoma. â??We like to go in and individually speak with the children and assure them that we know where they will be at Christmas time,â?? said Santa Ray Hill. â??Weâ??ll give the gifts to the children and just assure them that everything is going to be good.â?? Lone Star Santas are also sanctioned by the American Red Cross, FEMA and various other faith based organizations that provide relief to disaster victims. They have been in communication with those organizations to see when is best for them to make their way to those disaster sights. â??We go in a little after the disaster happens, give people a little time to reclaim some of their lives,â?? said Santa Ray. â??Then we go in and weâ??ll give the gifts to the children and just assure then that everythingâ??s going to be good.â?? Donations can be dropped off at St. Stephen UMC at 4600 Western Street or call Santa Ray at (806) 570-1436. For more information on Lone Star Santas, visit lonestarsantas.org
