According to Vote Texas nearly 72 percent of people eligible to vote in the state are already registered.
That didn't stop the League of Women Voters who set up booths at three Untied Supermarket locations to encourage and help residents register for the March 4, 2014 election. The last day to register is Feb. 3, and it takes 30 for your registration to become effective.
Leticia Goodrich with League of Women Voters said, "We are seeing a lot of people out here today. Many people are already registered to vote and we're pleased to find out that but we are finding that some people haven't ever voted so it does serve a good purpose for us to be here."
Early voting begins Feb. 18.
