For the first time since the 1987-88 season, the West Texas A&M women's basketball team will play for the national championship.
The Lady Buffs blasted Nova Southeastern 80-66 in the semi-finals of the NCAA d2 tournament, winning for the 11th straight time, 25th in 26 games running their record to 32-2.
WT jumped out to a big lead thanks to three straight three pointers from Lacee Logan and never trailed.
Nova got to within one, but WT regained the momentum and led by as many as 24 points in the second half. Chon White led the way with 26 points and 17 rebounds while Devin Griffin also had a double-double, 17 points and 14 rebounds. WT will now face top ranked and unbeaten Bentley in the championship game.
Bentley beat five time champion Cal Poly Pomona, improving to 34-0 on the season. The title game is set for 6pm Friday.
