This week's Waiting Child has been waiting for quite some time. 12-year old Jesse is looking to be matched in the Big Brothers Big Sisters program. Jesse is a seventh grader at Crockett Middle School. He says he loves going to school so he can hang out with his friends. He also loves all things Science. But that's not what all he loves.
"I love to play chess, fish and play video games," said Jesse.
He also loves to go bowling and watching movies about dragons and magic. When it comes to getting matched with a big brother he wants someone who has similar interest.
"May be take me fishing or go to the movies or go bowling." So why does Jesse want a big brother? "So I have someone to play with or do things with when mom is at work or something." 6:46"What kind of qualities would you like your big brother to have? kind, smart."
The big brothers big sisters program is always in need of volunteers, especially men. In fact, they have a long list of boys like Jesse waiting to be matched with a big. You can call the organization at 351-2210.
