House fire determined to be accidental

Just after midnight on Aug. 14, the Amarillo Fire Department was dispatched to a building fire at 1308 S. Rosemont St. in Amarillo, an occupied single story residence.
Six units were assigned to this incident, and 18 personnel responded.
In approximately 30 minutes, the fire was declared as being under control, and within approximately two hours the scene was cleared. There were no injuries.
The fire was determined to be accidental and originated on the wood deck in the rear of the house, and then spread to the exterior siding of the house and further progressed to the attic area before being extinguished by fire crews.
The estimated property loss on this incident was $75,000. The estimated content loss was $25,000. The estimated property value was $150,000. The estimated content value was $50,000.
