Investigators are looking into a shooting that occurred Friday morning at approximately 1:14 a.m.
arly Friday morning, Amarillo Police Department officers responded to the 3300 block of south Jackson on a report of a person breaking windows with a bat.
According to APD, the caller informed police that they were armed. Shortly after the call the homeowner told police that the suspect had entered the house. As police made their way to the scene, shots fired were reported, and police learned that the suspect was down inside the residence.
When officers arrived on scene, they spoke with a witness and the homeowner. The suspect, a 25-year-old female was taken to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The homeowner and the witness were taken to Amarillo Police Department for questioning.
According to APD, the investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made at this time.
