Mon, 07 Oct 2013 01:10:14 GMT — The Texas Department of Public Safety had their hands full Sunday afternoon after a helicopter crashed in Cottle County killing one person. It happened around 12:21 p.m. east of County Road 493 which is about two miles north of FM 1038 in a field. DPS troopers say a helicopter was hovering next to a power line stem pole trying to connect to the power line when the tail rotor clipped a sheave. The pilot, 34-year old Joshua Fitts from West Hurricane, Utah died in the crash. According to DPS officials, the helicopter was a Mcdonnell-Douglas.
