It could have been "Austin Days" in the Panhandle Tuesday, as some folks from there were in Amarillo presenting their research from the Harrington Fellows program.
Students, professors, and other community leaders gathered at Amarillo College to see the latest research on political science, psychology, English, and landscape architecture.
"I told Sybil we could do it, but not at an eastern university. I told her that if she'd let me work with the University of Texas, that whatever she did would never be forgotten," said Wales Madden, a friend of the Harringtons.
Madden also said that the Harringtons would be very pleased with the response.
The University of Texas at Austin considers the Harrington Fellow's program to be of the most prestigious on their campus.
