Happy State Bank transitions to new technology

Happy State Banks across the state are modernizing.

According to bank officials, this technology conversion will make the way customers bank much easier.

For more than 25 years, the bank has used the same computer system. On October 19th, the bank will replace that technology.

Online banking will be down beginning October 19th and will resume on October 23rd at 8am.

To help customers understand the conversion and see the benefits, the bank has created a Happy Handbook and Conversion Resource Center.

Statement from the Happy State Bank Chairman and CEO J. Pat Hickman:

"Dear Friend,

First and foremost, thank you so much for choosing HAPPY STATE BANK as your bank. There are a lot of banking

options available to you and we greatly appreciate you choosing us. I’m writing to tell you of some new

enhancements and changes regarding our delivery of your banking products and services that we think are going to

make you even Happier (of course, the pun is intended).

After 25 years using the same computer system, we’ve decided that we (that’s you and our team) need to modernize.

No small feat, this change will affect every product and service and, therefore, every customer we serve. While

change is something we all typically like to avoid, I think you are really going to like what our new system will do

for you.

After a laborious search, we selected one of the world’s leading banking technology providers, FIS, to be our partner.

You are going to see some exciting new products along with several expanded capabilities such as an easier-to-use

mobile app, simplified statements, and increased security to protect your information. The actual conversion to the

new system will take place in latter October. It’s our intention to make this transition as seamless as possible for

each of our valued customers.

Between now and October, we will send various communications to help you understand these changes and how

they will impact and help you. The most important piece you’ll receive is titled “HAPPY Handbook.” This all-in-one

guide contains the tips and explanations that will help you understand all of the new features we’re delivering to

more fully serve your banking needs. As always, please let us know should you have any questions. Feel free to stop

by any HAPPY branch, call our Customer Service help line at 1-800-447-BANK (2265), or email us at

customerservice@happybank.com.

We’re excited but a little nervous, too. I’m confident we’re going to pull this conversion off in a way that creates

minimal issues for most of our customers. But I’m realistic enough to know that some snags will occur. Any issue(s)

you, or we, uncover will simply give us a chance to demonstrate our commitment to resolving it quickly with the

same HAPPY attitude you’ve come to expect from us. If, for any reason, you would like to have a personal, one-onone

discussion with a HAPPY representative—please just stop by or give us a call.

Thank you for your time. Thank you for your trust. Thank you for banking with HAPPY STATE BANK.

Sincerely,

J. Pat Hickman

Chairman & CEO"
