Girls, 12, stab classmate 19 times to please Slenderman

Waukesha Police Chief Russell Jack provided a statement on Monday regarding details surrounding the stabbing that took place over the weekend.

CNN -- After stabbing their "friend" 19 times during a weekend sleepover, two 12-year-old girls from Waukesha, Wisc., were charged on Monday as adults for attempted homicide...all because they were addicted to Slenderman stories on a website called

According to a statement by the Waukesha Police Department, the victim was friends with the suspects and all three of them atttended the same middle school. Based on their investigation, the girls planned to kill the victim for several months.

The three had a sleepover at the house of one of the suspects on May 30.

In the morning, the suspects convinced the victim to play a game with them in the woods at David's Park. Once there, one suspect held the victim down while the other stabbed her 19 times in the arms, legs and torso.

The victim was able to crawl out of the woods to a road, where she was discovered by a bicyclist. The Waukesha police and fire departments responded and located the girl. She was transported to a hospital to have surgery for her injuries.

The police department said that although they are deeply saddened that this girl suffered "this horrific crime", they're pleased to announce that she's in stable condition.

On Monday, the two suspects were charged as adults for attempted homicide.
