Fire quickly contained at Amarillo College West Campus

A fire at Amarillo College's West Campus was quickly contained Thursday morning.

Damages are estimated at costing $300,000, the Amarillo Fire Department said. Firefighters responded to the campus at around 8:30 a.m. Thursday.

The fire, isolated to Building B, was under control within an hour, fire officials said.

According to the fire department, it was a two alarm fire that involved three engines, two ladder trucks and two command vehicles.

No injuries were reported

and the fire was determined to be accidental.
