Pair of fires north of Fritch causing evacutions

UPDATE: 7:48 p.m.

Forward progress of the Harbor Bay Fire has been stopped, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.


UPDATE: 6:21 p.m.

The Harbor Bay Fire north of Fritch is estimated at 1,000 acres with 20 percent containment, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.


UPDATE: 6:18 p.m.

The second fire reported north of Fritch near Fritch Fortress road that caused evacuations is 90 percent contained, according to Hutchinson County Office of Emergency Management.

Crews are mopping up hot spots and the evacuation has been lifted.


UPDATE: 4:49 p.m.

The Borger Office of Emergency Management is asking residents to evacuate the are west and southwest side of Lakeview Drive in the City of Fritch area. Everyone is being asked to avoid the area.


UPDATE: 4:28 p.m.

The Celebration Family Church is accepting evacuees, according to the City of Fritch Facebook page.


UPDATE: 4:10 p.m.

According to the Amarillo Area Office of Emergency Management, Highway 136 at FM 1342 has been closed due to the fire burning north of Fritch.

Firefighters are battling a new fire in Fritch that has caused the evacuation of two additions.

According to the City of Borger/Hutchinson County Office of Emergency Management, residents of the Double Diamond and Arrowhead additions north of Fritch are to evacuate immediately.

ABC 7 Amarillo will provide updates as soon as they become available.
