#WoodsFire fully contained at 50 acres, no homes damaged

UPDATE: 5:28 p.m.

The #WoodsFire is reportedly 100 percent contained at 50 acres.

The 20 homes that were threatened were all saved.


UPDATE: 4:30 p.m.

The #WoodsFire in Potter County is up to 95 percent contained at 50 acres.

According to Potter County Fire Chief Richard Lake, nothing was damaged and no one has been injured. Three homes were temporarily evacuated but all occupants have returned to their homes.

15 Potter County Fire units responded to the fire, as well as one Texas A&M Forest Service Dozer and one aircraft.

Lake said that crews are now clearing up hot spots.


UPDATE: 3:31 p.m.

The #WoodsFire in Potter County is now 60 percent contained according to the Texas A&M Forest Service.

The fire has burned an estimated 10 acres.

The fire's progress has also been stopped by TFS and Potter County fire crews.


ORIGINAL STORY: Fire crews in Potter County are battling a grass fire near Arlie Road.

According to officials, the fire has currently burned 10 acres and is threatening up to 20 homes. The fire is currently zero percent contained.

The Texas A&M Forest Service has been called in and a total of three single-engine air tankers have been ordered.
