A round 1:30 Thursday afternoon, Amarillo Police got a call about a burglary in progress in the 1400 block of Bernard.
Police arrested two male suspects, and put them into the back seat of patrol cars. But one of the suspects was able to get his cuffed hands in front of him. He then kicked out part of the partition between the front and rear seats, and escaped through the front seat.
He then jumped into a two-tone suburban and took off. He only made it a few blocks before hitting a building in the back of the house on Walnut, and then fled on foot. The DPS Chopper and SWAT also aided in the search to find the suspect.
We are told the man was caught sometime later, still wearing the handcuffs.
