Employee holds burglar at gunpoint until cops arrive

A car lot employee caught a burglary in progress over the weekend and held the man at gunpoint until the police arrived.
On July 5 at 4:25 a.m., Amarillo police officers were sent to the 3100 block of Amarillo Blvd. East on a burglary in progress.
While officers were responding, they were advised that an employee of the business had caught someone breaking in and they were detaining them at gunpoint.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with an employee of the car lot who advised them that the business had been hit several times in the past few weeks, and that employees were taking turns staying in the business overnight.
The employee said that he heard noises in the shop area. He picked up a semi-automatic rifle and went to investigate.
The employee found a man attempting to steal five rims and a lawnmower from the business.
The employee caught the suspect and held him at gunpoint until the officers could arrive.
It was later found that the suspect cut a hole in the fence and was attempting to take the wheels and lawnmower out through the hole in the fence.
The suspect is Christopher Lee Yarbrough, 38, was booked into Potter County for burglary of a building.
