Driver succombs to injuries of May crash

The driver of a one-car accident outside of Shamrock in May was recently taken off of life support and died as a result of her injuries.

On May 20, Linda C. O'Conner, 67, was traveling eastbound on I-40 when she fell asleep at the wheel. When she woke up, she was driving in the center median of the interstate. The vehicle split two bridges and drove over the cement retaining wall, landing on County Road 26 below.

O'Conner was transported to University Medical Center in Lubbock. The family discontinued life support on May 30, and she died as a result of her injuries from the crash.
