Driver leaves motorcycle behind after it catches fire

A motorcycle was left behind after it caught fire Tuesday afternoon.

According to Amarillo police, officers got a call around 3:30 p.m. of a motorcycle on fire in the 2600- block of Southwest 26th Avenue.

APD said the driver had been westbound on S.W. 26th Ave. and was stopped at the red light when the motorcycle suddenly caught fire. The driver then got off the motorcycle and fled the scene. Police say he was last seen on foot heading northbound from the area.
