Driver in custody following chase involving stolen vehicle in N.E. Amarillo
AMARILLO, Texas —
A driver is in custody and three other people have been detained following a chase that ended in Northeast Amarillo.
According to Amarillo police, officers tried to stop a stolen vehicle in the 1800- block of Brook Avenue Tuesday afternoon. The driver refused to stop and a pursuit ensued.
Police said spike strips were deployed twice during the pursuit. The four occupants ended up getting out of the vehicle in the 900- block of Foxglove Street.
APD said the driver of the vehicle is being arrested and the other three people are being questioned as of 3:30 p.m. The vehicle, a red Honda two-door, has been recovered.
