Drive-up robbery being investigated by APD

APD is investigating a personal robbery that took place on May 25 near the 4000 block of S. Jackson.

While walking in the 4000 block of S. Jackson, a 19-year-old was robbed by a man who drove up, got out, robbed him, got back into his vehicle and drove away.

On May 25 at around 7:20 p.m., Amarillo police officers were dispatched on a personal robbery call. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 19-year-old victim who stated he was walking along the 4000 block of S. Jackson when a dark colored SUV pulled up next to him.

The driver got out of the vehicle, approached him and asked him for a cigarette. The suspect then pointed a pistol at him and demanded the iPad that the victim was carrying.

The victim handed over the iPad, the suspect returned tothe SUV and drove away from the area.

The suspect is being described as a black male, early 20s with tattoos on his left forearm.

The SUV is described as a late 1990s or early 2000s black SUV possibly a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
