DPS Trooper seizes $572K worth of marijuana, hashish during traffic stop

One person was arrested after a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper found five pounds of hashish and 125 pounds of marijuana.

Tuesday afternoon at approximately 2:04 p.m. a DPS trooper stopped a Ford Fusion on Interstate 40 for a traffic violation in Carson County near Conway. During the stop, the trooper searched the vehicle and discovered 100 vacuum-sealed bundles of marijuana and 1 vacuum sealed bag of hashish inside the trunk of the vehicle. The estimated street value of the drugs is more than $572,000.

61-year-old Michael Lee Waters was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and booked into the Carson County Jail.

According to DPS, the drugs were being transported from Anderson, Calif. To Savannah, Ga.
