Marissa L. Norman was arrested Saturday after a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper found 53 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop.
According to DPS, the trooper stopped a pickup traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 84 in Bailey County for a traffic violation. The trooper searched the vehicle during the stop and found 53 bundles of a "high-grade" marijuana hidden between lumber in the bed of the pickup.
DPS said the estimated value of the of the marijuana is more than $246,000.
Norman was driving the vehicle at the time of the stop and was arrested for possession of marijuana and booked into the Bailey County Jail. The drugs were allegedly being transported from Washington State to Barnsdall Okla.
