AMARILLO - The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) conducted a traffic stop Thursday on IH-40 yielding 109 pounds of marijuana that was valued at over $485,000.
At approximately 9:44 a.m., a DPS trooper conducted a traffic stop on a 2010 Volkswagen passenger car traveling eastbound on IH-40, for a traffic violation near Bushland in Potter County. During the traffic stop, the trooper conducted a search of the vehicle and discovered 100 vacuum-sealed bundles of marijuana in the trunk.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as David A. Goodwin, 32, of San Diego, Calif. Goodwin was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana second degree felony, and booked into the Potter County jail. The drugs were allegedly being transported from San Diego, Calif. to Monroeville, Pa.
