2 people were arrested Friday night after a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper found 10 pounds of meth during a traffic stop.
According to DPS, the trooper stopped a Lexus car on Interstate 40 near Bushland for a traffic violation on Friday at approximately 8:54 p.m. During the stop, the trooper searched the vehicle and found the methamphetamine inside a rear door panel. The estimated value of the drugs is more than $390,000.
59-year-old Lon Morell Schneider and 52-year-old Esperanze Wade were inside the vehicle at the time of the stop.
DPS said both Schneider and Wade were arrested for possession of a controlled substance and booked into the Potter County Jail.
The drugs were allegedly being transported from Irvine, Calif. to an unknown location in Minnesota.
