DPS seizes cocaine, meth during traffic stop

The Texas Department of Public Safety said a DPS troopers found methamphetamine and cocaine Wednesday during a traffic stop near Roscoe in Nolan County.

According to DPS, the troopers stopped the vehicle for a traffic violation. During the stop a canine unit was called in to search the vehicle and found one pound of methamphetamine and two packages of cocaine inside. DPS said the estimated value of the meth is approximately $36,000.

At this time DPS has not released the identity of the driver of the vehicle. DPS said the driver is connected to an ongoing DPS Criminal Investigations Division investigation in Lubbock.

DPS said the illegal narcotics were allegedly being transported to Abilene from Lubbock.
