DPS seizes $85K in drugs during traffic stop

On Tuesday October 15, 2013 the Texas Department of Public Safety stopped a Lincoln Towncar traveling east on Interstate 40 for a traffic violation.

According to DPS the searched the vehicle during the traffic stop and found 25 pounds of cocaine, in nine bundles, worth more than $850,000 inside the doors of the vehicle. The trooper also found $12,000 in cash inside the doors of the vehicle.

DPS identified the driver as 69-year-old Glenn Nolan Richards. Richards was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and booked into the Carson County Jail.

DPS said the drugs were allegedly being transported from West Covina, Calif. to Sunrise Fla.
