During a routine traffic stop along I-40, DPS troopers found 36 pounds of methamphetamine during a search of the vehicle.
Troopers stopped a 2003 Chevrolet Blazer that was traveling eastbound, near Conway in Carson County.
The driver of the vehicle was identified as Leira Cota, 18, of Oklahoma City. Upon consent of the search troopers discovered 23 bundles of meth hidden in the seats.
Cota was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, a first-degree felony, and was later booked into the Carson County Jail.
The meth is valued at over 1.3 million dollars. The drugs were allegedly being transported from Nogales, Ariz. to Oklahoma City.
